Two Weeks Away!

My official entrance into all things blog-dom!

Matt and I will be departing for our Great American Road Trip Adventure in just over 2-weeks (October 9th to be exact)!

Those that know me well can appreciate my reasons for writing in this blog today. 2-weeks from now, and probably around this time (9pm), I'll be wrapping up my crazy notes/lists and creating new forms for staff/volunteers at work *YES - you're welcome in advance!*

I'll come home to find Matt relaxed and triple-checking his sea of electronics, his suitcases nicely packed and our various maps and National Park brochures all laminated (even with the GPS we borrowed from Chris - thanks Chris!)

Around midnight, I'll attempt to pack my closet into a designated # of suitcases, then shove the rest into every nook and cranny of Newt. Get to know Newt ... she's got spunk (and I like that!)

NEWT and Matt from our road trip to Asheville,
North Carolina last year

Matt will be asleep by 11pm while I frantically try to find a cd that I haven't listened to in 5 years but have to copy onto my i-WHATEVER for the trip. I'll give up on perfecting the starburst sculpture of creepy Lionel Richie around 3am and pass out in bed ready to wake up in 3 hours to hit the road!

Where are we going you say? Funny you should ask!

Here's our itinerary:

  3. By the way, as a Texan, I must correct your map...Texas is its own entity, not to be lumped with the Southwest!
